This Privacy Policy describes how the Ekhora application (the "App") collects, uses, and protects your personal data. The data controller is Maksym Shtohryn. By using the App, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and agree to the terms of this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
We process data to: register you and provide access; find matches and recommendations; show your profile to other users; enable messaging based on mutual interest; maintain safety and moderation (handling reports and blocks); provide support; improve the service.
The order in which profiles are shown in the feed is generated automatically. It is influenced by the overlap between your interests and personality questionnaire results, the geographic filter you have selected, the completeness of your profile, your activity in the App, and the responses received from other users. This ordering does not produce legal or other similarly significant effects for you and does not restrict your ability to use the App. We do not publish the exact weights of these factors so that they cannot be artificially gamed.
The legal basis for processing is the consent you give when registering in the App. You may withdraw your consent at any time by deleting your account.
We do not sell your personal data. To operate the service, we engage service providers who process data on our behalf: Google Firebase (authentication, database, server functions, hosting); Cloudinary (photo storage and delivery); Expo (push notification delivery infrastructure); and, once purchases are enabled in the future, the Google Play payment system. These providers process data under their own terms and with their own security measures. We may disclose data if required by law.
Our service providers' servers may be located outside your country. Data transfers are carried out using the security measures adopted by these providers. We have data processing agreements (DPAs) in place with our providers, including standard contractual clauses where applicable.
We store your data for as long as your account is active. Data transmission is protected by connection encryption (HTTPS). We take reasonable measures to protect information, but absolute security on the Internet cannot be guaranteed. Media files (photographs, video, voice messages) are stored with the provider under a closed delivery mode and cannot be opened via a direct link. The App grants access to them through service links generated for authorised users.
You have the right to request access to your data, its correction or deletion, to receive it in a portable format (data portability), and to withdraw your consent to processing. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights. To exercise these rights, write to us at [email protected].
You can delete your account within the App itself or by sending a request to [email protected]. When your account is deleted, we remove your profile, photos, videos, and voice messages, including the copies held by the storage provider, your questionnaire results, your messages, and related data. Minimal service records of moderation are retained (case identifier, date, decision taken) for no longer than 12 months, along with information we are legally required to keep. Communities you created are not deleted together with your account: they are transferred to a community moderator or archived, and your name and photo in them are replaced with a designation of a deleted user.
The App is intended only for persons aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we become aware that data was provided by a person under 18, we will delete such data.
As of publication, we do not use third-party analytics tools for profiling. If we introduce them in the future, we will update this Policy and, where necessary, request your consent.
We may update this Policy. The current version is always available in the App with its effective date indicated. We will notify you of material changes through available means.
